Thanks for your reply, I will call Chris. I still have the springs that came with the bike when I acquired it nearly 10 years ago. I will press those into 'light duty' service whilst I work out what to do.

I was told that Series A HRD (Vincent) springs fit, but I also heard of problems that they might have a failure problem.
I'm sure that the club are looking into getting some made, it will be a matter of whether the shape and material is right.
I spoke to Alberta Springs a while ago on a visit with Vic Youell, and got a bit of an insight into what would be needed.
When I was at Alberta later on he was going to make some Sunbeam springs for a customer but there was about an 18 month waiting list for the correct material. I'm not sure what the outcome was.
Chris Odling was supplying a softer set of springs, Matchless V twin I think, which I have in my 90 engine and they work fine. But you need to modify slightly the valve guide holes and the top retaining collar.

Hello all

I took my Model 95L out for a run at the weekend. Nothing too unusual about that as it does get used regularly and has proved to be comfortable and reliable. Unfortunately, halfway through the run and some 30 miles from home, an exhaust valve hairpin valve spring failed. I managed to limp home on the remaining good spring and what remained of the broken one. It was quite a buttock-clenching experience because there could have been catastrophic consequences had the broken spring failed completely. It was an unexpected failure as the springs were only replaced about 1500 miles ago.

My question is - does anyone have a spare set of springs or know where I might get some new ones? I seem to remember that the last set came from the club but checking the spares stock, they are no longer listed.
