Title: Attention: Phishing
Post by: Thomas on September 15, 2026, 10:46:14 AM
Hi all, I have gotten a number of emails from somebody named ,,Paul Hutton" with the correct email address from our spares manager. He or she asked to buy Apple Gift Cards on his/her behalf and sending them to a mysterious email. After many emails trying to force an Amazon purchase I have the suspicion that I talk to an AI or a real person trying phishing me (,,my friend could do it but he has serious kidney disease"). And after a trick question he declares being a London citizen although the real Paul Hutton is located in Wolverhampton. I see indications that I talked to an AI. On my question if I should submit a new Beaming article in The Guardian it agrees and asks again for a Gift Card. During the exchange Amazon automatically sent a message that somebody wanted to corrupt my account and closed it for security reasons. I stopped the dialogue and wonder if somebody else got such emails.
Cheers, Thomas

I got this as well,I also noticed that the address in the incoming mail was different to Pauls email address in my contacts.
