Post by: spudnukem@gmail.com on March 29, 2026, 10:13:54 AM
Could anyone with a '31 Webb style fork measure the links top and bottom center to center's for me? My M9 project's front wheel seems waaaay out there! Thank you.

I've had a look at the parts lists on the Sunbeamland web site and it appears that the bottom links are the same up to 1934 .
that would then make them the same as mine at 4.250 inches center to center. if you have sidecare links they are longer and should be stamped 'For sidecar use only'.
hopes this helps a bit

I don't suppose you could measure the center's on the top link for me? Or are they the same? All the best

The parts list shows that the links appear to be 1931 only. Plain link on the left and a link with suspension damping on the right. The damper side will most likely look the same as this but the length may be different .Mine are 3.750" centre to centre

Just out of interest and for the record, not all sidecar bottom links are stamped 'sidecar only', my '32 9A ones are plain. Even Archie Beggs said he'd never seen that before but I think my bike is quite early in production.
