Title: 1925 Model 5 Chaincase
Post by: shorrog on November 25, 2014, 04:35:30 PM
Hi Folks
Does anyone know what the purpose of what appears to be a bead on the inside of the rear chain case? As you can see in the photo the bead has got a bit bashed and it actually catches very slightly on the spokes. I just cant see the purpose for it.

Both of my chain guards have this semi circular "gutter" to stop rain falling down the junction to the splines..... that's the only thing I can think of. Graham, your one is pretty mashed!

I will try and take a good photo.

Wow that was a quick response thanks Vic.  My bike does not have the quick release wheel, so no splines but I suppose it could still be as a rain protector.  Would be interested in seeing the photo of your chain case when you get a minute.
