Title: Model 9 Head bolts/breathers 1931
Post by: davidw on October 24, 2015, 01:31:04 PM
Guys

I have misplaced the two head bolts that act as breathers on my 31 Model 9

Does anyone have any spare or one that i could get copied

Many thanks

David

This sounds odd to me. I have a '31 9A and that has standard head bolts. how would a head bolt act as a breather?. John

Yes it is an odd arrangement that i have not seen on many Model 9s but the bottom bolts securing the side plate on the nearside are about an inch long and threaded on the outside to receive a pipe union that connects it to the top of the rocker box. As the bolts are hollow it allows vapour to travel from the ?pushrod tubes to the rocker box and drip feed the valve guides

Any help gratefully received

It shouldn't be too hard to get some made up if you have the dimensions.
