I finally got my parcel which I have ordered six weeks ago (see http://www.marston-sunbeam.org/sunbeamForum/index.php?topic=1083.msg4437#new). It was stopped at the custom service in Frankfurt (Brexit). The "funny" thing is that beside custom fee I now also need to pay the flat rate for expenses. This is a fee that is incurred in addition to the import duties. The flat rate results for all consignments of goods from non-EU countries that have to be cleared through customs.

The calculation delivers the following:

Copper washer = 3.00 Euros
Shipping: 11.00 Euros
Custom fees = 3.16 Euros
Flat rate for expenses 6.00 Euros

Not to be missunderstood, I don't want to take the appreciated club service into doubt but considering this calculation it should be clear that sending cheap parts to outside the UK is not acceptable for club members anymore if they are sent as a custom relevant part. I strongly recommend to send such small parts as a private parcel so that custom expenses are avoided. This was successfully done by GS Valves for their small valve caps. All other procedures are frustrating for a club member outside the UK.
