I am in Canada. My Grandfather, who was a mechanic, had a 1924 Sunbeam - with low bars in Hull area. I have a photo with the licence number. Is it possible to search somewhere to see what may have happened to the bike. Where would I start.

If you can let me have the number, I will be able to search our Register, and check with DVLA whether the bike is registered with them.

Suggest you make contact with the club's machine registrar whose contact details are given at http://marston-sunbeam.org/contact.html .....there are over 1,000 machines listed as in existence.
