Title: 1921 sunbeam 3.5
Post by: Anji Mehra on November 10, 2017, 11:13:11 AM
Hi
Iam restoring a 21 Sunbeam in Pune , Indias & believe me its a big problem as there is no literature, parts etc.
Have got the engine repowered but find that the tappet springs are missing. Does anybody have the specs of these & how are these assembled. These are the light springs that, I assume, keep the tappets against the valves to eliminate sound ?
Also, can anyone please help with details of the decompressor as it is also missing.

Thanks
Anji

Hi Anji - nice to hear from you again!

Have you got a copy of the 1914-21 spares book? This is well illustrated, including the valve lifter and tappet spring. There are no detailed specs of these items, but the pictures do give some idea of what the parts look like.

You can order this through our on-line shop - and you can renew your membership at the same time!
