Title: Kickstart shaft tube
Post by: iansoady on August 19, 2015, 11:41:27 AM
This tube seems loose in the gearbox casting of my 1931 Model 10. The kickstart shaft itself seems to have the correct sort of clearance in the tube - it's the tube moving in the gearbox casting. I haven't delved too far inside yet.

Although this box is specific to the model (like almost everything else) I believe this layout is similar on other 3-speeders. I was convinced I'd seen a thread here about it but must be mistaken.

Any suggestions?

Later thirties models have a small locking screw (1/8 inch dia approximately as a guess) but  the tube itself is normally a faily tight fit and sometimes need heat to remove.
