I am wanting to replace the rear 3.25 x 20 tyre on my M8. As this tyre is now seemingly unavailable (unless someone can tell me otherwise) can anyone advise me whether to fit either a 3.00 or 3.50 replacement?
I too have tried to get 3.25 x 20 - it was used extensively on sports bikes of the 1930s - but I had no luck. I think the 3.50 would look a bit heavy on your M8, so the 3.00 might be better. I am told that the £.00 x 20 that Tyre Finders sells is slightly oversize on the width anyway (about 3.125!) so it will probably work OK. A bit thin for my M95, though!

It looks like it will have to be a 3.00 x 20 IF it will fit you rim properly..It might not expand tpo grip a WM2 correctly but i have seen a size chart for rims somewhere which explains suitability..I'll have a rummage in my memory to see if it's still hanging about..John
Yes Vintage tyres stock two types Ensign Universal and Avon Speedmaster (for the front)

strange their eBay price is less than their website.
The 3.00 x 20 will fit a WM2 rim.

Many thanks for all your advice and comments. I have ordered the 3.00x20 Ensign tyre through e-bay but from Vintage Tyre Supplies (who I have previously had good service from. I phoned them and asked about the price differential and they said it was due to the greater efficiency/automation using e-bay. Maybe it does mean it speeds up the order processing but not really sure that this is the reason!
The mysteries of ebay, eh? I got a pair of Avon tyres for my imitation (ie modern :-\ ) Bonneville delivered 'free' yesterday - less than 20 hours after I ordered them from M&P via their ebay shop.
The price was less than my mate could get them for and he has a trade account with them. The same applied to the tyres I got from them for my 3 1/2 Morini a couple of months ago.
