Refering to Champs book 'The sunbeam Motorcycle', get a copy if you can.

131--RLS-8
132--EE-6 2 off
5065--RLS-8
These are SKF numbers.

https://www.sunbeamland.com/partslist/
The above address is also a good place to search for part numbers, it was set up by Sean K Kelly.
If you click the HOME button at the top of the screen you will find more  technical info on Sunbeams
Sean spent a lot of his time collating this information.( thank god).
He lists the bearings with as well using a different manufacturers code..the bearings are still widely available.

I just stripped my engine and there wasn't any sign of a gasket and no real sign of leakage, though it had been sitting for many years.

I need to order a new set of four gearbox bearings for my 1931 Model 9 (3-speed BT box) but I can't make out the stampings. Can anyone give me a list of the four bearings needed, so I can order from Vintage bearings?

Appreciate the help and Happy New year to all

Technical Discussion Forum / Brake shoes
Last post by phutton - December 29, 2023, 01:35:03 PM
Hi All,
We are looking at sourcing new brake shoes for the Shop, but need some help with the detail. Can anyone tell me the WIDTH of the rear shoes 1927-30 (Factory part no. 3886) and 1931-35 (p/n 6060), and for the front shoes 1932-35 (p/n 6290/6708)?
Hopefully we will be able to find shoes from other marques that will either fit directly, or can be adapted to suit.
Thanks
Paul H

Dear Sunbeamer, over the last month we have been developing a new website for the club using a content management system (WordPress). Before we go fully live with the new website we would welcome your views good and bad. You can give feedback via the home page and this is the temporary link to the new site.

Beamers General Discussion Forum / Re: 1920s Saddles
Last post by BobClark - November 23, 2023, 04:11:55 PM
The question has now been answered, off the Forum, with huge thanks to Nick Shelley.  The saddle in the last picture, as shown in the 1925 catalogue for the Models 5 and 6, is a Lycett.  I now know what I am looking for!  Anyone got one to sell or trade, condition immaterial?

Beamers General Discussion Forum / 1920s Saddles

Hi all, my first post on here (although I'm in the background all the time as Membership Secretary.  I'm looking for information about Sunbeam saddles, specifically for my 1925 Model 6.  I've been down this rabbit-hole with Paul Hutton who has been really helpful, but I'm wondering of anyone else knows more or different.

This first photo shows the saddle that came with my bike.

But it does NOT look like the saddle on the Models 5 and 6 in the 1925 catalogue:

1925 Model 6.jpg

Which in real life (a random photo off the web) is like this:

Model 6 saddle.png

Now look at the last photo.  Does anyone have a saddle like this on their Model 5 or 6?  If so, does it have a maker's name?  Is this a Lycett, a Brooks, a Leckie or what?  And - a long shot I know - I don't suppose anyone has one of these saddles they would sell me or trade for the saddle in the first photo?
