Title: Rocker arms
Post by: Thomas on January 19, 2021, 06:08:45 PM
I am trying to disassemble the head rocker arms and I wonder how to do it. I can only assume that there are two keys on the push rod side, but I can't pull the arms out of their shafts. Is there a specific procedure?

Try pushing on the rocker to fully compress the Thackery washer behind it then tap the end of the rocker spindle with a soft hammer.

Thank you, Tony! Am I understanding correctly that the Thackeray washer presses the rocker outward? If yes, what stops it to go off?
Cheers, Thomas

The rocker arm fits on a taper on the spindle and needs a shock to dislodge it, the keys can be tight fitting as well.
