Hi all!

What is a good method to clean the dismantled oil tank?

Cheers, Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I use lamp oil as a cleaner for old hard oily greasy road filth stuff to wash off. I use this because it works very well, doesn't stink, hardly evaporates and is not or not too aggressive for most materials including my hands :). Oh, and it's cheap as well. You can fill up the oil tank with it and let it sit for a couple of days. What doesn't come out needs brushing out with an old toothbrush or so and might need another couple of days in the lamp oil bath. Enjoy

Cheers Winold

Another good thing is that you can use it over and over again, no matter how dirty it gets. I'm using the same couple of liters for at least 4 years now without filtering anything out.  I use it very often and the lid is never on. I've tried many different liquids / spirits for cleaning and this is my number one. I love the stuff ;D
