I need a shim for adjusting the end float of my crankshaft. 1 inch inner diameter, 0,026 inch thickness. What is a potential source?
I used this place a few years ago: https://www.thebearingcompany.co.uk/ - you might need to email or call them as I can only find metric sizes on their web site today.
Another possibilty is to look at the model engineering suppliers in the UK. They have small quantities for sale.

https://www.glrkennions.co.uk/shim-material.html I have used this supplier extensively and they are very quick.

The shim issue is more difficult than expected. I can't find imperial shims with 1" ID and 10 thou thickness. If somebody has one I would be eager to buy it.

Look at my reply in the crankcase gasket thread you posted..John
What do you mean?
What about these people? -

Thank you, Andy! This afternoon I have already ordered imperial ring shims here: https://www.mcmaster.com/shims They have an online shop which makes the issue easy.
Cheers, Thomas
They certainly have a wide selection!
Yes, they have. Two disadvantages: 1) They only ship to company addresses and 2) 40 $US for shipping to Europe. But we love our machines... ;D
