Here is a snap of the tyre valve on my Model 8.
There is a genius out there who can tell me what kind of pump/adapter I need to get air through this valve...?

Hi Andy.
What you can see there is the valve cap, which is the type incorporating a nifty valve core remover. Just unscrew it and you'll see the conventional Schrader valve stem.
Surely this isn't the first time you've checked........
Thinking ahead what tyre pressures front and rear would you thing appropriate?

Andy are the grease nipples the lock on type or the original parallel nipple..post a pic if your not sure..John
I find the original type grease nipples impossible to get a meaningful amount of grease in as it seems to prefer to squirt out of the sides.....
you need an original type push gun..If the nipples are blocked with dried grease you won't get any in either.
Remove them and use a small drill turned with your fingers to remove any hardened grease from the fill side and then soak in petrol, you should then get grease in but as I said you will need an original gun.
If you're not stuck on absolute originality replace them with new nipples and an new gun should clip on to them..John
I've tried all that and even the old dodge of a piece of rag between the nipple & the gun. Still little success.
I have one of those old Nubrex double diameter push-type guns as well as a Wanner lever action one (with the clip-on attachment).
I used to use the Nubrex filled with 140 weight oil for the swinging arm spindle on my Norton Commando, which it was ideal for.
I think you're probably right that modern type nipples are the way to go.
Have you tried getting grease through them by placing one on the bench and then using the grease gun.If you can get grease through that way then you could have hardened grease blocking the spindles..Also try slackening the links slightly and try the grease gun again..I get grease coming from around the nipple but also get grease coming out from the spindle.
You must take care of the forks if they have not been fitted with bushes( the original fitting is spindles straight into the forks with no bushes) or they will wear really badly..John
Why not have a selection of modern 1/4" BSF grease nipples, one straight, one 45 degree angle and one right angle which you can substitute for your existing nipples, pump grease in with a modern gun and then put the original nipple back in to preserve the bike's authenticity?

Yes, good idea. I did pack the spindles with grease when I assembled them so there's no great urgency, but that's a good solution.
There is actually a modern nipple on the top rear spindle.
