Title: Lighting
Post by: rakehill on February 24, 2014, 08:51:55 PM
Hi I have a lucas ss47 headlamp (the type where the on/off controls revolve around the ammeter). It was designed for the 3rd brush dynamo. I would like to wire it up to a 2 brush dynamo via a FADE regulator and battery. I'm a bit lost as to what wire goes where in the lamp. Can anyone put me right, maybe post a photo or diagram. Any help would be appreciated, it's a smashing late 20s lamp that I would like to keep.

I've done the same with t he later H52 lamp and a frame mounted MCR1 but it was very complicated with the brass/copper spring contacts inside the headlamp.

Basically I just tested the switch with a multimeter until I found a switch contact combination which worked.

Good luck

Vic
