Title: `27 Model 6 Main Bearings
Post by: Davetom on January 24, 2014, 11:04:55 PM
Hi all, new member here and first post.. Pulled apart my `27 M6 as the crank was sloppy, and it needs new mains. Before I do my own research, can I be lazy and ask the forum what the options/sources are ?

Regards, Dave Thomas

Well I've answered my own question this morning and found a couple of sources. I was expecting more of a struggle to find them, hence the question, but they're relatively common

Hi ,main bearings are available from the vintage bearing company,my 28 has two ball & one roller, the big end has two row roller bearing with 5/16 x 5/16 rollers .I had the cage modified to take 8mm ones (about 5 thou bigger & longer) the outer race  was lapped &  the crank had to have 1 thou ground off .All is like new now.
good luck beamboy
