Title: Model 9 Front Crankcase Oil
Post by: shorrog on June 20, 2013, 12:46:27 PM
Hi there can anyone tell me how much oil I should put in the front chain case of a 1930 model 9 and is it ok to use engine oil?

I use engine oil in the primary c/case of both my machines - seems to work OK. I put just enough in to ensure that the bottom of the chain on the bottom run just dips into the oil - you will just see the drips when you rotate the engine (by hand!)

Thanks Paul
I will do as you say and also  measure the amount that goes in and post the result back here.
