Title: Wet Sumping - Overnight

Hi, new owner 1938 Model 8. My bike wet sumps a good litre + overnight, any thoughts what maybe wrong ?

Hi Andrew (?), that might be sludge at the ball valve. You can find a decription here on page 47:

Hi, for anyone who may be interested it turned out the return pipe within the oil tank had desoldered and was allowing oil to flood through.

I've heard of them cracking (rare) but not desoldering..Glad you found the problem quickly though. John
