Title: Ultrasonic cleaner
Post by: Peter 100 on December 05, 2021, 06:08:04 PM
Hello to all
Has anybody used an ultrasonic cleaner if so are they any good. Is there a chance of damage to the parts being cleaned?
It would be nice to know the thoughts of anybody who has used one.
Cheers
Peter

Graham
looking on utube they seem to work quite well , and ranging from 40-100 pounds they might be a useful bit of kit.

It is not clear from the parts list whether or not there is a seal. There are two types of selector segment shaft listed - one with a taper spline for the lever (type A) and one for a parallel spline (type B). If you have the taper spline, there should be a gland nut and sealing washer. The other question is how much oil is in the box? It should be no more than 8 fl.oz - about 16 tablespoons. Any more than that, and it will cause a problem on the gearchange, and will leak out through the gear selector segment shaft.
