Title: amal clip fitting carb body
Post by: max on September 12, 2017, 07:13:27 PM
Help! I'm desperately seeking the correct sized carb for my 1936 model 9 as it's currently running on a 276 norton type which is too small for the bike.

I'd be happy enough with a 289 clip fitting carb or in best case scenario an 89/001 but the chances of this are slim having been searching for a long while. I've also spoken to martyn Bratbury who hasn't anything in stock.

Alternatively I have a damaged / cracked 89/001 carb body that could be used as a pattern I guess if someone out there has casting / pattern making experience and would be willing to give it a go.  Any thoughts?

Burlen (AMAL) supply a clip fitting 289 developed for post war Vincents which should do the job..... need to check jet sizes etc. Expensive though.
