Title: 1927 AMEC Carburettor and Float Bowl Assembly
Post by: Blacklightning on November 10, 2016, 09:07:58 PM
Good Evening,

I have just acquired a 1927 Model 5 500cc side valve longstroke.

She has been fitted with a 30's AMAL carb and I am currently starting a full restoration.

I am very keen to restore her to standard and so am searching for an AMEC carb and float bowl assembly if any member were to have one that they would be willing to part with.

Many thanks for reading.

Regards

Stuart

It might be worth asking Martin Bratby - you can find his contact details on our Suppliers List.

Thank you. I've spoken to Martin who has some AMEC parts but no float bowl tops for example - so I thought I would try for a complete original or some bits that I can have restored.

There was one advertised in the VMCC Journal this month but sadly had gone when I rang.

I'll keep looking.

Thank you.

Thanks for that, been looking at the photos and the float bowl top has AMAL on it I think..

Thanks for the pointer - it may be right other than that so I'll have to get someone to look at it for me.
