Title: enamel or powder coat

Hello beamers can any one tell me what is best for my wheels powder coat or stove enamel both my wheels are in sound condition but need coating
and to be honest i just don't know which way to jump anyone had experience of either for both many thanks Terry

The problem with powder coating is that when fitting the nipples you can break the seal (possibly even having to file the coating off to get them fitted) and that then forms a path for water and ultimately serious corrosion.
It needs to be good quality stoving (not low bake) otherwise you will not be able to put the tyre back on without damaging the paintwork

Im with Vic on this one. Powder coating, unless the preparation is extremely good will crack and allow water under the paint layers sooner or later. Its also very difficult to remove for repainting later. Ive found a good 2 pack enamel to be far more durable and easily touched up if scratched.

Stay well away from powder coating, its fit only for shopping trollies and prams.

I had my 1938 matchless done with it many years ago and regretted it ever since.

I regret it so badly I would rather have hand painted it.

basically its plastic which there is no place for on a Marston Sunbeam.
