Hi All.
I have now got a front hub and drum for my 1929 M90.
I found out that Hugh McAllister has been making the 6" drum and hub assembly as well as a 7" version, so i decided if this bike is going to be quick I'm having the 7" version.
It took a while as Hugh had to get the 7" shoes made, but what a nice bit of kit it is.
I had planned to make a brake plate and I was part way through doing it when i remembered i had a spare (or 2) rear brake plate.I did not think that I could use it but I removed the rivetted in pivot and offered the plate up to the drum with the shoes centered in it with a piece of 1/2" bar for the pivot. What a great surprise the bar went straight through the 1/2" pivot hole and the cam spindle also lined up with the boss. i need to shorten the cam boss but that's a simple job.
Next bit is to rivet the brake arm to the plate, part from the new spares courtesy of Vic Youell, and get a rim and spokes sorted and I have a complete front end to replace the doglegs setup i have now.
