Hi, I find by using the the central free running sprocket even one tooth forward or back in the direction as required moves the timing by 2-3 degrees. Should this matter?

I prefer to release the other sprocket instead.john

The Bosch Magneto sprocket on my 1914 31/2 has not got an internal thread to enable a normal puller to be used. The only way is to unbolt the mag itself and use a ground down 3 leg puller to remove the sprocket itself. This is a real chore and thus difficult to get the timing spot on. The sprocket itself is very hard steel and impossible to tap an internal thread. Am I missing something?
