The Gods were with us – the sun shone and the warmth was welcome – although I tossed my leathers aside at lunch time as I felt it was a little too warm (still I’m from the North!).
The day started waiting for the departing ferries – two boats; 10 on the first and the rests following on the second 50 minutes later. On landing the first batch set off and negotiated a rather “tight” road after the decent first 11 miles. The views were worth it, however, and no problems occurred and then on to the lunch stop which was at the white sands of Calgary Bay. A leisurely break ensued, prizes handed out and some more clothing discarded.
After lunch on to Tobermory for refreshments and a sorting out of timing for the first boat home. A good road down to Craignure (ferry terminal) for the boats back to Oban.
Sunday started just like the day before, with warm sunshine and a much depleted number of machines, as many had decided to make their long way home. However, 5 machines mustered, with Neil driving his van. There was a short run to the Tigh and Truish Inn on Seil Island – a spot of lunch and the 2nd Dalriada was brought to a close.
Thanks to :
Neil Cowan for first sweeper
Bill Craig for providing a new cup for Best Original Sunbeam and driving Huw Parsons’s van as second sweeper – (thank you Huw).
Thank you everyone for participating – I hope you all had a great day.
